Newly qualified drivers of any age are more likely to have road traffic incidents/collisions, simply because they are less experienced. Twenty percent (1 in 5) of new drivers will be involved in a road traffic incident/collision during their first two years behind the wheel. 2 people under 25 are killed in car crashes every day on UK roads. That’s why insurance premiums are so high for new drivers. Research shows that accident liability is reduced by nearly half after two years driving experience. That is why it’s worth taking extra training after you have successfuly attained your licence.
