Chequered Flag - Driving Instructor Training

ADI LogoIf you enjoy driving, are good with people and looking for a rewarding career, we at Chequered Flag will train you to become a Driving Instructor. Chequered Flag Driver Training and Development is an ORDIT qualified training establishment.

Chequered Flag Instructor training course is a fully accredited programme, which has been developed by a highly qualified A.D.I. Trainer.

Our course is tailor made to fit around your commitments to work and family life. All training is in our own cars and unlike many larger organisations is on a 1:1 basis unless otherwise requested.

Chequered Flag will provide training materials which are approved by the D.S.A.  The cost of these materials is included in the cost of the course.

ADI Qualification Examination

Before starting an ADI training course, the Trainee must satisfy the following legal requirements:

  1. Eyesight requirement, ie be able to read a number plate at 27.5m/90ft
  2. Hold a full UK or European Union (EU/European Economic Area (EEA)) unrestricted car driving licence.
  3. To have held it for a total of at least four out of the past six years prior to entering the Register after qualifying.
  4. No disqualification from driving at any time in the four years prior to being entered in the Register.
  5. Be a “fit and proper” person to have your name entered in the Register. All convictions, motoring and non-motoring, will be taken into account when your suitability to be entered on the Register is assessed. You will be required to have an enhanced level criminal record check. The information from this check will be used to assess the suitability of persons applying for inclusion on the Register of Approved Driving Instructors.
  6. The Trainee must pass the two qualifying practical examinations (Parts 2 & 3) within two years of passing the theory examination (Part 1) and apply for registration within 12 months of passing the final part of the examination.

The qualifying examination to become a DSA Approved Driving Instructor is split into three parts, referred to as Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3.  The test for each part must be passed before you can move on to the next part.
